Week 2 (3/8): Becoming a Peer Minister
Using the parable of the good Samaritan (Luke 10:25-37), we’ll learn about how peer ministers are people who choose to welcome their neighbor instead of ignoring them.
(3/15): (We’re off for the first Sunday of Spring Break!)
Week 3 (3/22): Saying Hello
Ever feel awkward talking to new people? Using John 1:35-39, we’ll learn skills about how to begin conversations.
Week 4 (3/29): Welcoming a Stranger
This session will help us learn ways of creating a welcoming atmosphere when new people join a group.
Week 5 ( 4/5): I’m Glad You Asked
The story of the blind beggar (Luke 18:35-43) will lead us to use questions to gain deeper insight and wisdom.
(4/12): (We’re off for the Easter Holiday!)
Week 6 (4/19): Quest to Discover
Our faith is passed on through personal and trusted relationships. We’ll use the road to Emmaus story (Luke 24:13-35) to explore models for relational ministry.
To be a peer minister, you should be:
* a current student between the ages of 18-23
* active in a campus ministry
* a good listener
* trustworthy
* sensitive to others
* trying to make healthy and purposeful decisions
* caring
